bank holiday Monday

Hi all. Been a lovely sunny day here today and haven't done much at all after being really busy for the last 2 days. Had mum over to dinner yesterday and made a Victoria sandwich, I'll put pictures on after. Been sitting in the summerhouse most of the day and took a few photos of the girls. It's been so nice just sitting looking out into the garden doing nothing. There is a photo of Poppy doing her Meerkat impression. Back to work tomorrow but only 2 hrs. Ordered a new car Saturday and looking forward to getting that, Linda x

3rd May

Hi all, today I took the girls over the field and we went for a stroll and I did a touch of birdwatching. I've been waiting to see what was going to happen with the geese and today I was rewarded with the babies. I'll be putting some photos on here at the end. We have had some lovely weather here and it's set to last for the weekend and bank holiday monday, hurra. With freegle I got a fab exercise bike for mum and she's doing some every day. I said to her is there anything else you'd like and she mentioned audio books. I put a wanted post on the other day and I picked up over 30 in tapes and cd's, such a great thing. The birds love the bird table I got a couple of weeks ago. I planted some pansies last Monday and they have taken well, I just want to get a few more to look out of the conservatory up towards the back so there's a bit of colour.I'm getting birds nearly all day now which is fab, I'm so pleased but I waste so much time just looking out at them. The photos show Poppy after running into a stinky pond over the field. I've been putting dogs hair and cotton wool out for the birds and they have been happily taking it for their nests. Tomorrow I've got 2 lessons then a couple of test drives. I'll be having a go at making cinnamon swirls for hubby and making a Victoria sandwich with cream and strawberries for Sunday,if it turns out well I'll take a picture, Linda x

mums' tulips

Mum these are the tulips Hazel gave you

Lovely day here, mostly

Hi all. We had sun, clouds and rain today. Did manage to get some replanting done as I had a Hebe that wasn't doing well and I think it was in the wrong place, so sorted that today. I've had some elephants ears that have been in a pot for ages and finally planted them out too. I made 2 pizzas today, 1 for hubby and 1 for me. His had pepperoni, pepper and onion mine had goats cheese, rocket, cherry toms, olives and onion and the other half of mine had mush, onion and cherry toms so nice. I did some bird watching in the conservatory and put some of Saffrons hair in the garden and a sparrow and blue tit helped themselves, great. I got a free bird table last week which is now in use. I'll add a few pictures of what I've mentioned on here, Linda x

It's been a while

Hi all, it's been a while but I'm here now. I'm still busy bird watching and recently bought a bird station. It's great sitting watching the birds but they are a bit of a time waster as I'll make a cuppa and sit and watch. I'll start off by saying I'll watch for 20 mins, that comes and goes and an hour later I'm still there. We had some nice sunny bits today, about time too, so sick of the cold and rain, let's hope we actually get a few days of sun strung together that we can call summer. I made a lovely lemon drizzle cake saturday and hubby and I have about 1 slice between us left, I must give the cakes a break for a couple of weeks when this has gone. I actually managed to get a bit more grouting done in the kitchen the other day and I had to redo some in the bathroom. As I didn't have the correct tool when I was doing the bathroom I don't think I took enough out, but it looks ok now. I bought a new light for the kitchen and it's fab. Recently put new nets up and after taking them up and they look fab, so bright white, love them. Hubby had flu on Easter Sunday and for a few days his temp was over 100' but his much better now, just left with a cough. I never caught it, don't know how but I put it down to having 2 kiwi fruits every night to help me sleep and as a bonus they're full of vitamin c. Enough of this now, must go and let the girls out, Linda x

Saturday 23rd March

Hi all. Today I got up at 6.20am to let the girls out and it was snowing heavily. Went back to bed until 7.30 and checked the weather, still snowing, so I cancelled my 9.30 lesson. It has been snowing on and off all day. I made sure the birds had seed and managed a few pictures. I made a chocolate sponge cake and added a drop of orange. In the butter icing I put a few small marshmallows. We've just had a slice but it might be a bit too much for me. Last weekend I made a lemon drizzle cake which was lovely, want to make an orange drizzle next time. I took the girls out yesterday and had to hose them down when they got back and as they were so wet had to get the hair dryer out for them, Linda x

Hello anyone that may be here. It was my birthday during the week but it didn't pan out the way it was supposed to. The 3 of us were going to go to Frensham for lunch until hubby told me he was working, them mum and I said we'd go. The night before I received a call from mum saying something had gone wrong in her bathroom and someone would be along to fix it between 8 and 12 the next day. Anyway, I woke up, opened my cards and took myself off to Woking, Morrison's, to have breaky and a look around. I enjoyed myself while I was out, got a few bargains too. I came back and did some bird watching in the garden. I have a few different birds and a new one completely is a Nuthatch, so win win all round. Tomorrow, Sunday the 3 of us are off to Frensham for breaky to make up for the shortfall in the week. Been working today for a couple of hours so no birdwatching as it's been raining for most of the day and couldn't see through the windows, Linda x

Me again

Hello again. Bought my cake tins and here's the cake. It's a Delia recipe of an Austrian coffee and walnut cake with coffee cream. Had a slice and it's not so sickly as it's not full of butter cream. Adding a few more birds too. Got greenfinches and Siskins so I've been told, Linda x

Happy Mothers Day

Hi all. Been doing a lot of bird watching and a week after trying with my new food I now have goldfinches, chaffinches and greenfinches, so happy. Went to sainsburys this morning very briefly as I wanted to get a couple of cake tins as later I'll be making another coffee cake, this time I won't be throwing it out. I'm going to put a few pictures of the birds on here in a minute. Happy Mothers Day mum, see you in the week, Linda x
